How to add new activities to the module in Moodle 3.6

Turn editing on

You will able to make changes to the module contents as long as you have the correct access rights. Anyone enrolled as a ‘teacher’ will be able to amend contents and upload new materials to modules.

Before you can make changes it is important that you enable the ‘editing’ feature. You can do so by clicking on the cog wheel on the top right hand side of the module page and selecting ‘Turn editing on‘ (see image below).

Adding contents

Once you have enabled editing, you will see that your module page now has plus symbols at the bottom of each content area allowing you to add activities or resources or new weeks/topics (at the very bottom of your module page).

Add an activity or resource

To upload learning materials, create assignments and add any other contents to your course, select + Add an activity or resource option in your Moodle page. Make sure that you the editing is turned on (see instructions above).

You will be presented with a new window with a number of activities to choose from. To learn more about each activity and what it does click on its name.

Select an appropriate one to suit your needs and click ‘Add’ to add it to your course.

If you are looking to upload a file or a URL scroll down to the RESOURCES part of the page which contains these options (see image below).

Activities and resources can be amended or removed by clicking the pencil icon (to rename) or ‘Edit’ button (to Delete or edit properties).
