Alex Spiers Image

Alex Spiers is the Technology Enhanced Learning Project Manager at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He is a key figure in the development of technology-enhanced learning at LIPA. He is an experienced learning technologist having worked in the HE sector for over 13 years. He has come to us having worked at a range of institutions across the North West including University of Liverpool, LJMU and Edge Hill. He will be overseeing the design and development of the VLE working in close collaboration with teaching and learning staff, as well as IT colleagues. Ensuring that the VLE and associated technologies meet both staff and student expectations and play a pivotal role in providing a high-quality student experience.  The TEL team will be developing provision for training and support for teaching and learning colleagues staff to take advantage of blended learning methods for teaching and learning. He will also be working in close collaboration with Dominic Fitzgerald, Head of Creative Technologies and Performance, to develop an innovative course that takes advantage of new tools and approaches that will launch in 2019. Alex also leads the ALT North West England special interest group, and is interested in social media, mobile learning and audio, and video assessment feedback. Vaiva Adamonyte image

Vaiva Adamonyte is the Learning Technologist at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Originally from Lithuania, Vaiva graduated with BA in Communication, Media and Popular Music from the University of Liverpool, and worked at the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine before joining LIPA in 2019. 

Passionate about enhancing student experience and improving learning and teaching, Vaiva has expertise in learning technologies and online content development, as well as photography, video and audio production. As a member of the TEL team, Vaiva will be working with staff and students to deliver training and improve existing technologies at LIPA as well as implementing new ones.
